Essential Oils & Herbs

Bergamot oil benefits the skin by fighting bacteria and inflammation, which helps with acne, and by regulating oil production for a more balanced complexion. It also has antioxidant properties that protect against aging, helps fade scars and dark spots by promoting cell regeneration, and can hydrate the skin. However, because it is phototoxic, you should not apply it before sun exposure and should always do a patch test first.  

Cayenne pepper can benefit the skin primarily through its active compound, capsaicin, which has topical applications for pain and itching relief, as well as antifungal properties. It also supports skin health from the inside out by providing vitamins like A and C, which are essential for collagen production, elasticity, and overall skin health. 

Calendula benefits the skin by promoting healing and soothing it with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It hydrates, helps regenerate skin tissue, reduces redness and irritation, and can be used to treat conditions like eczema, diaper rash, and minor wounds. It is also gentle enough for sensitive skin and may help with the appearance of fine lines and aging. 

Chamomile benefits the skin by being anti-inflammatory and antibacterial, which can soothe irritation, reduce redness, and help with conditions like acne and eczema. It also provides antioxidant protection against aging, promotes skin healing, and can improve skin hydration and complexion.

The oil is also suitable for all skin types, non-comedogenic, and can improve overall skin tone and texture.

Eucalyptus essential oil offers benefits including respiratory support, pain and inflammation relief, and antimicrobial properties. It can help with coughs and congestion, soothe sore muscles and joints, and may have antibacterial effects against certain infections.

Evening Primrose oil - Because of the rich omega 6 fatty acid content, EPO is known to reduce redness and skin inflammation and also soothes irritation generally caused by blemishes. Furthermore, primrose oil moisturizes your skin, removes dryness, and fights off the bacteria that cause acne.

Garlic benefits the skin due to its antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties, which can help fight acne and infections. Its antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds may also protect against aging, reduce swelling, and improve skin texture and tone. Topical application and consumption of garlic are both linked to these benefits.

Oregano contains compounds with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antifungal properties and may have other health benefits. 

Patchouli essential oil is the star ingredient of many facial care products known to bestow skin with a vibrant, glowing and smooth complexion. The ingredient is a hero in all aspects, as it is beneficial for all skin types.

Peppermint cools and energizes, while also providing several healing properties, relieving tension headaches, and acting as an antimicrobial agent. It is used to relieve tension in muscles and headaches through its cooling effect, and may help with cognitive functions like focus and memory.

 

pine oil promotes circulation, helps soothe inflammation, relieves muscle fatigue, soothes sore muscles, and helps ease inflamed joints. Pine essential oil may also help soothe itchy skin, which may be helpful for eczema or other skin irritations.

They can brighten the complexion, help tighten pores, and reduce redness due to their anti-inflammatory properties. Regular use can improve skin elasticity and promote a healthier, more radiant appearance.

Rosemary essential oil benefits the skin by acting as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, which helps fight acne, reduce redness, and protect against aging. Exfoliants

Coconut sugar benefits the skin through natural exfoliation, moisturization, and antioxidant properties. When used in skincare, sugar can also help prepare skin for other products and potentially offer a gentler exfoliating option than salt scrubs. 

Coffee grounds are a natural exfoliant that sloughs off dead skin cells, revealing newer, brighter skin underneath and helping to unclog pores.

Carrier Oils​​

Sunflower oil benefits the skin by providing moisture, strengthening the skin barrier, and acting as an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. It hydrates and softens skin, helps with issues like dryness and eczema, and its antioxidants, particularly vitamin E, protect against premature aging and environmental damage. It is also non-comedogenic, meaning it doesn't clog pores, making it suitable for various skin types.

Coconut oil benefits the skin by moisturizing it, retaining moisture, and providing antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties due to its high lauric acid content. It can also protect against UV damage, help with wound healing, and is useful for cleansing, but its comedogenic (pore-clogging) nature makes it unsuitable for acne-prone facial skin. 

Olive oil benefits the skin by moisturizing and hydrating, fighting signs of aging due to its antioxidants, and reducing inflammation. It contains vitamins E and squalene, which help repair skin and protect it from environmental damage and free radicals. 

Grapeseed oil benefits the skin by acting as a moisturizer, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory agent, which helps protect against environmental damage, reduces signs of aging, and can improve skin tone and elasticity. Its lightweight, non-comedogenic nature makes it suitable for all skin types, including oily and acne-prone skin. 

Jojoba oil benefits the skin by providing deep hydration, antioxidant protection, and anti-inflammatory effects. It is non-comedogenic, meaning it won't clog pores, and its composition is similar to the skin's natural sebum, helping to balance oil production for both dry and oily skin types. 

Sweet almond oil benefits the skin by deeply moisturizing and improving its texture, while also protecting it with antioxidants. It can soothe irritation, reduce the appearance of scars and fine lines, and is gentle enough for most skin types because it is non-comedogenic and rich in vitamins like A and E. 

Other Ingredients

Beeswax benefits the skin by creating a protective, breathable barrier that locks in moisture, while its antioxidants and Vitamin A help repair and soothe. It is an excellent humectant, meaning it attracts moisture, and its emollient properties soften the skin. It can also help calm irritated skin, promote cell regeneration, and reduce the signs of aging. 

Bentonite clay benefits the skin by absorbing excess oil, detoxifying pores, and reducing the appearance of acne and blemishes. It also helps soothe irritated skin, reduce redness, and gently exfoliate, which can improve skin texture and promote a healthier glow. Additionally, it may help with skin conditions like dermatitis and diaper rash.  

Matcha : Good for skin: The antioxidants help protect against sun damage and signs of aging, while also potentially improving skin clarity. Good for rosacea.

Shea butter benefits the skin by deeply moisturizing, soothing irritation and inflammation, and promoting a more youthful appearance. It is rich in fatty acids, vitamins A and E, and antioxidants that help create a protective barrier, reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks, and support skin repair. Its anti-inflammatory and healing properties are beneficial for conditions like eczema, psoriasis, and sunburn.  

Vitamin E oil benefits the skin by providing antioxidant protection, reducing inflammation, and moisturizing to improve dryness, fine lines, and skin barrier function. It can also help with faster wound healing, softening scars, and soothing irritation, making it beneficial for most skin types, especially dry or dehydrated skin.
